There’s no way in hell I will pay $15 for a ticket to a damn movie. Sorry. I would rather spend 15 on beer. I will buy the DVD when it comes out though. I support you, but I just can’t afford it and I think it’s a blatent rip-off. Even if I didn’t lose my job and the economy wasn’t horrible, i would not shell out fifteen bucks for a one-time movie event. It’s a movie…

  2. Anat says:

I’m sorry you feel that way but it’s not just a movie. That’s the point of the one night event. It’s a movie and a conversation starter with the people from the film immediately following it. Think of it as a shared experience.
I’m sorry you lost your job. Really. But that doesn’t mean that this event has no value.

  3. Kevin says:

I definitely agree with Anat and this is coming from someone else who’s money is tight and just lost a job. I think that someone representing craft beer on the big screen is fantastic and I’ll shell out 15 bucks easily for that.

  4. beerman says:

i took all of my beer bottles to the recycle center and that paid for my ticket. so i bought my good friend a ticket so he can understand why i love beer culture and the craft brewing industry. he in turn will buy me a beer to say thank you. ahh….life is great!

  5. Patrick says:

Thankfully, I just found out about Beer Wars this week AND it’s playing in my remote neck of the woods. Times are tight for me as well but this is a subject that’s important to me (what could be more important than good beer?) so I’ll be there!

  6. Rich says:

Not playing anywhere near my neck of the woods, lots of people who really want to take part in this event are just out of luck. Heck, I’d pay the 15 bucks but driving 2 hours each way on a work night is out of the question…

  7. I can’t wait to see this movie. $15 bucks is a little on the highside, but it’s about Beer!!! The beer i hold near and dear to my heart. I am all set to go!!

I LOVE craft beer. I feel for the people who want to see it, but can’t go.

  8. Steve in KC says:

$15 is way too pricey for this event and I wont be going! I am totally disappointed with their excessive pricing…kindof like corporate america putting the screws on us again. Wasnt this supposto be a documentary that they wanted all people to go see??? Jeez

  9. Anat says:

OK. One more time. It’s not just a film but film + live panel after the film. it’s a special event!

  10. Julie says:

Just got my tickets today and am really excited. If the theater was smart, they’d sell craft beer to the patrons so we could drink while we watched. They’d make a killing. Liquor licenses in PA are pricey tho…

  11. Hindowa says:

I have not seen the movie, but intend to. For those wondering what all the fuss is about I recommend you read Chris O’Brien’s “Fermenting Revolution”. See you at the movies. H

  12. Gray says:

I can’t wait to see this, as a home brewer I’m always looking for more inspiration and insight into the brewing industry! Thank you for putting this on! And for the Negative Nancie’s who are complaining about the cost, i too lost my job and am going through tough times but where there is a will there is a way! If you truly LOVE beer, this is an event you probably shouldn’t miss!

  13. Kathy Noda says:

I’m going to see the movie Thursday! It’s Cobb CinéBistro at Dolphin Mall in Miami, FL. I get to drink beer and eat while I watch the movie! I love Dogfish Head 90 Minute the best. I hope I get to drink a really neat craft beer during the show. :)

A David and Goliath story pitting the country's smallest brewers against the largest.

Beer Wars: Brewed in America, is an eye-opening, funny and righteosly infuriating documentary by first-time filmaker Anat Baron. Her film (think of it as Suds: A Love Story) is also a pretty damning idictment of not just the beer industry but contemporary unfettered unregulated capitalism's disturbing excesses.
- Box Office Magazine
In Beer Wars, entrepreneurialism and opportunity go awry when tainted by greed and a thirst for power.
- Los Angeles Times
Beer Wars certainly raises some interesting questions, the most potent of which is, is this what capitalism is meant to be?
- New Times
For those who are keeping the American dream alive, this spirited documentary raises a toast.
- St Louis Post-Dispatch
A trenchant analysis unapologetic in its rebuke of Big Beer, Beer Wars is heartily recommended for patrons already inclined to opt for the local brew at every tap. It will also appeal to patrons interested in craft foods as well as homebrewed beer and wine and others particular about quality.
